‘Shifty McGifty and Slippery Sam – The Missing Masterpiece,’ by Tracey Corderoy, illustrated by Steven Lenton.

I am a huge fan of the canine bakers extrodinaire so was thrilled to receive a brand spanking new copy (plus TWO to giveaway!) of their latest adventure en Paris!  Not only that, but the terrific twosome shared some of their baking knowhow and also sent over their top-secret gingerbread recipe and Eiffel Tower cookie cutter (naturellment.). Make sure you take a look at how Book Boys 1 & 2 got on!

This time Shifty and Sam are heading for the continent to broaden their culinary horizons.  They’ve been invited to bake a huge gingerbread Eiffel Tower for a special event at Galerie BonBon. Little did they know that they would end up becoming embroiled in one of the greatest art heists of all-time, and getting up close and personal with wanted art thief, Cunningham Sly.

As gigantique Shifty fans, we had high hopes for their latest adventure and we’re definitely not disappointed:

• clever rhyming text? Check!

• a gorgeously-illustrated Paris? Check!

• delicious goodies? Check!

A real visual treat, Steven Lenton has recreated Paris in all its glory and captured the essence of some of the World’s greatest works of art in doggy form (Bone-a-Lisa anyone?)

Can’t wait to see what comes next!

Inspired by the duo’s Parisian Adventures, we tried our hands at making our own gingerbread Eiffel Towers. But although delicious, they were not quite up to the standard of Shifty and Sam’s gargantuan effort!
